Hunger Solutions announced a list of schools eligible to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Community eligibility is the newest opportunity schools with a high percentage of low-income children to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students. According to the USDA’s CEP evaluation, program enrollment increases participation in the school meal programs, reduces labor costs for schools, and increases federal revenues. Many schools across New York State are eligible! The New York State Department of Education is now accepting applications from schools that want to participate in the CEP. The deadline is June 30, 2014.
For more information on the application process and to apply read the NYSED Recent memo on CEP.
